Decorating Your Coasters

These blanks are perfect for decorating with a wide range of craft materials, including:

• Acrylic paint pens
• Acrylic paints
• Decoupage papers
• Markers and other craft media

They take a while to colour in and you will need a steady hand and good light. It is very rewarding work and we take a great pleasure in creating the completed ones you see here.

For best results, the blanks can be used as supplied or primed with a thin coat of dilute PVA glue before decorating to seal the painting surface.

Finishing Your Coasters

If you plan to use your finished design as a coaster, it is highly recommended to seal the surface with a heat-resistant varnish to help protect the artwork from heat and moisture. Most DIY stores can supply either gloss , satin or matt varnish. Brush lightly and test a small area before varnishing the whole surface.

Alternatively, the finished pieces can be mounted or framed as decorative wall art, making them a lovely handmade addition to any room.
